Short version: no accounts, no ads, no selling data. Your searches are used only to look up your water district.

What we collect
- Nothing you have to give us. You can use the whole site without an account, name or email.
- Test results you type in are saved only in your own browser (local storage) so they're there when you come back. They are not sent to us. Use "Clear" to delete them.
- Emails you send us are used only to reply and to fix what you report.
Services that handle your searches
To find your water district, the address, ZIP code or map point you search is sent directly from your browser to these public services, which have their own privacy policies:
- U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder (addresses to map points)
- Photon by komoot, using OpenStreetMap data (address suggestions while you type)
- Zippopotam.us (ZIP code centers)
- U.S. EPA's ArcGIS map service (water district boundaries)
- OpenFreeMap (map tiles)
When you open the district map, we estimate an approximate starting point (your city) from your internet connection using our host's network data. It is used only to center the map and is not stored.
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We don't use advertising trackers. To count visits we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track individual visitors; it reports only aggregate page views.
Affiliate links and cookies
When you click a product link and visit a retailer, that retailer or its affiliate network may set cookies to credit the sale. Their privacy policies apply on their sites.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can clear saved results at any time with "Clear" or by clearing your browser's site data. Residents of states with privacy laws (such as California) can contact us about any information we hold; since we don't collect personal information beyond emails you send, there is usually nothing to report, and we will delete your emails on request.

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above.
